For Spring 2012, lace is popping up everywhere. Kate Middleton looked lovely on her birthday in a long black lace v-neck and Selena Gomez rocked a lace mini at the MTV EMA's recently. Lace isn't only for evening though. Add a hint of lace to your daytime wardrobe with an understated blouse, or with a pop on booties. In this month's Glamour magazine, we found a great article on 40 little tips and tricks for a quick and fun makeover. So easy, and you probably already have most of the supplies at home to try them!

Glamour's 40 Little Makeovers & Fakeovers
1. Brush gold shadow across lids; eyes will twinkle.
2. Two words: high pony.
3. Dab lip stain on cheeks.
4. Dust blush on eyelids.
5. Wear your glasses.
6. Wake up wimpy roots by lifting and blowdrying.
7. Go for darker brows.
8. Quickie chic: Do a super-deep side part.
9. Contour cheekbones with some bronzer.
10. Lazy-girl smoky eyes: metallic gray shadow, two coats of black mascara.
11. Mist shine spray on your hair's dry ends.
12. Run a hair-dryer over your lash curler before crimping (set it on low).
13. Switch up your scent.
14. Trace your Cupid's bow for shapelier lips.
15. Add a jeweled barrette.
16. Line eyes. Smear. Go.
17. Two-trick ponytail: Smooth locks on top; tease ends for texture.
18. Line the inner rim of each eye with a white pencil.
19. Swipe two coats of bronzer in your cleavage.
20. Try a blue-based red lipstick for insta-white teeth!
21. Rub body oil down the front of your legs. Look slimmer, fast!
22. When in doubt: topknot.
23. Stack fake lashes above each iris for doll-like eyes...
24. ...or falsies on the outer corners for sexy cat eyes.
25. Tease that crown.
26. Highlight the inner corners to wake up your eyes.
27. Fake a longer-lasting mani: Just polish the tips.
28. Dab clear gloss on the center of each lip for a lusher pout.
29. Pin bangs to the side.
30. Dot luminizing liquid on cheekbones. Blend it in. Glow.
31. Run a dryer sheet across your hair to beat static.
32. Do a bright winged eye.
33. Use a glaze to brighten colored (or not) hair.
34. Get fuller-looking brows: Fill them in with a shimmery pencil.
35. For the illusion of longer nails, file them into an oval shape.
36. Rub rosy cream blush onto the apples of cheeks.
37. Dab pomade onto small sections of dried hair; twist.
38. Run a clear gloss over your brow bone.
39. Bleach-free highlights: Place clip-on hair extensions (in a slightly lighter color) around the crown.
40. Bad hair day, great hat.

Farewell, Oprah. We'll all miss you and your fab show...but we're here to talk about shoes! Beyonce performed Monday night on the 2-part Oprah finale special and rocked the house with an edited version of Run the World (Girls) AND in a fabulous pair of red patent pumps. These were lower than usual for our girl B which we've been seeing a lot of lately. Maybe the sky-high heel is coming closer to the ground? Maybe.

Big thanks to TOMS footwear for coming out to our 2011 Sales Meeting! This year marks the 25th anniversary of Journeys. Through the years, Journeys has opened over 1,000 stores (52 of which are Shi by Journeys), launched successful catalogs and websites, branched out into social media, hired some GREAT people and...well, the list goes on!

District managers, store managers and office staff in attendance were given their very own TOMS and let loose to decorate them with stamps, pens + sharpies. (Faux) Fur Fever

I was a little on the fence this year about this comeback of fur vests (faux, of course!) but when I saw this one, I changed my mind. A little oversized, the Jack B.B. I'm not sure if you girls are as excited as I am that boot season is fast approaching, but let me tell you, I. Am. Pumped. As summer winds down, we start getting deceptively cool morning and evenings that make us dream of late fall, when boots and jackets are finally appropriate to wear. Then, mid-day, comes the sweltering sun and we are reminded that it's not quite time to break out our wardrobe we carefully stored away last March.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE summer. It's my favorite season by far. It's just that, when the weather begins to cool down, I remember all my sweaters, boots, scarves & jackets that I haven't been able to wear and am ready to trade in my sundresses and flip-flops for more sophistication.

In the spirit of pining away for fall, I wanted to show everyone some of the fabulous boots we have coming in this season. How about that sequin boot?! Love it! Hope everyone has a fun, safe & fashionable Labor Day weekend!

Fashion Friday at The Office

One of the things I love about working for a shoe company (aside from it feeding my unhealthy shoe obsession) is seeing all the fabulous outfits the girls around the office have put together. We have a pretty fashionable group of people around here (guys too!) and it's great for inspiration. There is such a wide variety of styles that you're never running out of ideas. For today, I was able to round up 4 super stylish ladies to have their photos taken for the blog-trust me it was difficult. NO ONE wants their picture taken! Thankfully, Emily, Dannie, Lauren and Michelle were kind enough to pose for the camera. After lighting adjustments, lip gloss applications, complaints and more, here are 4 of our office's loveliest!

Emily is our resident vintage girl. She loves pairing dresses with unique accessories and pops of color. Dannie is the newest addition to our team and I always catch her in these lovely, layered ensembles. Style shouldn't have to be hard and Lauren proves it in her easy, floral maxi dress topped off with a cardi and great accessories. Michelle is rocking a pair of skinny jeans and our exclusive Jeset wedges (love her glasses & super chic side ponytail! Makes me miss my long hair!).

This weekend I did the much dreaded (and also very necessary) chore of cleaning out my closet. Do I really need that white tank that I have 5 more of, that may or may not have a fixable snag in it? Had to share these super-sophisticated heels that were being packed up for the Holiday catalog shoot today. Cannot wait for these to come in. Love the vintage feel from the tumbled material (note: I need to stock up on pencil skirts). What would you girls wear these with?

Hello From...CoolSprings Galleria Shi Store!

I took a trip today to the CoolSprings Galleria Shi by Journeys store to find out from the staff what their favorite styles are in stores right now. Let me just say, it was a hard decision, but they finally narrowed it down after much thought.

Matt chose the Camryn by Vans (he suggests pairing them with a floral dress). Lisa & Krystal both went with the Frye boots (which by the way, I have on my wish list right now. I think I'm going to splurge and get them this Fall. I've held out long enough...) Krystal couldn't decide on just one so I said OK to two-so, besides the Frye boots, she picked the Puma Imani Mesh in green (also in navy, and also on my wish list). Megan opted for the über-comfy, embroidered Raja flats by Not Rated.
